Truth and Reconciliation
My Commitment
In my future role as an elementary teacher, Truth and Reconciliation means a commitment to learning and understanding. It acknowledges that reconciliation is not an immediate effect but an ongoing journey that requires constant learning and willingness to be open minded.
Into the Classroom
I plan to always bring the principles of Truth and Reconciliation into my classroom by acknowledging that we are on Treaty 4 territory every day. This includes respectfully teaching about the history and creating an environment of awareness and respect.
